Terms of Service

Zero is operated by Aditya Ranjan, trading as Urbane Labs ("we", "us"), Bengaluru, India. Our full details are in the legal notice. These terms apply between us and the business that uses Zero ("you"). Zero is offered to businesses only, not to consumers. If you accept these terms on behalf of a business, you confirm that you may bind it.

Zero reads the documents you upload — safety data sheets, bills of materials and tech packs, supplier declarations and certificates — and shows each value it reads beside the page and the words it was read from. It checks what the documents say against the regulations it covers (the REACH Candidate List and Article 33, restrictions under REACH Annex XVII including those on PFAS, the EU POPs Regulation and the national PFAS rules it lists) and drafts working documents for you: a report, an evidence annex, a hazardous-substance register, supplier requests and correction letters.

A document Zero cannot read reliably, or a type of document it does not support, is refused and marked as such; it is never read in part as if it were complete. Where a document leaves something out, Zero shows it as missing.

Zero reports what your documents say and where they say it. It does not assert that a document is correct, complete or current, it does not test products, and it does not certify anything. Its outputs are drafts for a qualified person to review. Zero is not legal advice.

You, or your client where you act for one, remain responsible for meeting every legal obligation — for example under REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006), the CLP Regulation and the EU POPs Regulation — and for every document you issue. Review every output before you rely on it or pass it on.

• Keep your sign-in details confidential; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
• Upload only documents you are entitled to share with us for this purpose.
• Do not try to reach another customer's data, to break or overload the service, to get around its limits or security, or to copy, decompile or resell it.
• Do not upload content that is unlawful or that is designed to manipulate how Zero reads documents.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts the service or other customers at risk.

The documents you upload, and everything Zero reads from them, remain yours. We process them only to provide Zero to you. Where they contain personal data, we process it on your behalf under a data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR). We do not sell your data and we do not use it to train AI models.

Each customer's data is kept apart from other customers' data by access rules in the database and in the application. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers. The providers we use, and where they process data, are listed in the privacy policy.

When you ask us to, and in any case when our agreement ends, we delete your data or return it to you, as the data processing agreement sets out.

Pilots are free of charge unless we agree otherwise in writing. Paid use is agreed in a separate written order, which states the price and the payment terms.

Zero is under active development. We aim to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change, add or remove features. We will tell you in advance of a change that materially reduces what you have agreed to receive.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, fraud, or injury to life, body or health.

Otherwise, Zero is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or fines, seizures or other measures imposed on you or your clients by any authority. Our total liability for all claims in connection with Zero is limited to the fees you paid us for Zero in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim. For a free pilot, the pilot agreement sets the limit.

We own Zero, its software and its content. While these terms apply, you may use Zero for your own business and for your clients. The outputs Zero drafts for you are yours to use.

You may stop using Zero at any time. Either of us may end the agreement by written notice (e-mail is enough). Your data is then deleted or returned as described above.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us is resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator appointed by both parties together or, failing that, as the Act provides; the seat is Bengaluru, India, and the language is English. Either party may seek urgent interim relief from a competent court.

A signed pilot agreement, order or data processing agreement between us takes precedence over these terms where they differ.
